Summer Camps

A Typical Day

Typical Day at the Camp for children who are Blind or have Low Vision

Each morning your camper will meet their bus counselor at their designated bus stop. With all campers in attendance by 9 am, we begin the day’s adventures. JCC Brooklyn Summer Day Camps (ages 4-16) are headquartered at the Bay Ridge Campus.  Our Bay Ridge campus includes acres of verdant fields and the breeze blowing off the water. We also have exclusive use of a private Bowling Alley, Theater, Gym, Pool, and the rest that our many-acre-wide campus has to offer.

Your camper’s day may begin with instructional swim time in the pool under the expert guidance of our lifeguards. Safety is the first priority. Next is fun! We meet campers where they are and are happy to provide alternate poolside activities if your campers would rather not swim or be in the water; we are always here to learn about your child and tailor camp to their needs!

Lunch is a picnic in the shade. Children bring their own nut-free delicacies. After lunch, campers play.

In the afternoon, campers rotate between a variety of activities.  Snack is provided prior to dismissal.

Specialist-Led Activities include but are not limited to:

  • Swimming
  • 360 Scooters
  • Tandem Biking and Pedal Carts
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Inflatable Water Activities
  • Air Jumper
  • Bowling
  • Sports
  • Dance
  • Gymnastics
  • Shows and Performances
    and more!
